Ouija segna l’esordio di Stiles White alla regia ,una pellicola horror a sfondo sovrannaturale incentrata sul famosissimo gioco che da il nome al film ed i cui diritti appartengono alla casa Hasbro che lo ha prodotto,tavola creata nel 1890 e già apparsa in svariati film fino a diventare praticamente un cult nell’immaginario dei riti spiritici.

La caratteristica principale di questo film è quella della totale mancanza di originalità,in ogni singolo aspetto sarà riconducibile a tantissime trame di altri film di successo dell’ultimo decennio mischiate più o meno sensatamente,questo porterà lo spettatore “allenato” ad avere la consapevolezza di quello che accadrà,l’utilizzo dei suoni per cercare lo spavento,apertura e chiusura di infissi,ombre ed apparizioni fulminee,persino le atmosfere che si trovano negli ambienti casalinghi, tutto un gigante deja-vù che inghiotte le scene arrivando a non spaventare mai.

Poco male, non sarebbe il primo film poco originale e che non spaventa ,magari compensa con lo splatterume ….ed invece no ; nessuno splatter,nessuna violenza ( 2 labbra cucite non contano) tutto lindo al punto che c’e più sangue in Robin Hood di Walt Disney.
Segnalabile un gigantesco buco nella sceneggiatura ( spero di averlo confuso io e che non sia così ) Debbie; ovvero colei che creerà tutto sto putiferio,parlando con la sua migliore amica , quella che invece porterà tutti dentro il grande casino,dice …”hey scusa ero da sola e stavo giochicchiando con la tavoletta degli spiriti”….peccato che per metà del film nessuno sapesse che lei era in possesso di una tavola spiritica e che questa frase ci avrebbe permesso di saltare un gran pezzo di film ed un altrettanto stupefacente scena di cui Debbie si auto riprende a casaccio mentre parla con uno spirito,totalmente nonsense.

Una cosa totalmente originale forse c’e … è prodotto da Michael “Boom” Bay …e non contiene esplosioni ( tremolio impaurito).
Un film che per me è da guardare solo in caso di estrema noia e che alla domanda “spirito dell Horror ;questo è un film da vedere??” sposta istantaneamente il cursore su NO.
