Questo 4 capitolo della fortunata saga horror spagnola, apocalypse funge da film che chiude il cerchio, un cerchio che da un senso alla storia del 3 capitolo,quel matrimonio indigesto e scollegato ai primi due capitoli, che però si svolgeva in contemporanea ad essi ( come più volte fatto notare ) la trama torna subito al condominio delle prime avventure,quelle scale che hanno provocano innumerevoli spaventi e ora pronto a saltare in aria quando ecco ricomparire Angela Vidal (la reporter di rec 1 e comparsa in rec 2 ) prontamente tratta in salvo da quello che rimane di un plotone militare. Dopo questa introduzione la trama si sposterà su di una nave ,dove troveremo Angela in un misterioso laboratorio dove scienziati vogliono studiare il virus , inutile dire che le cose precipiteranno.
Paco Plaza e Jaume Balagueró nel 2007 avevano formato una coppia perfetta , i primi 2 capitoli sono molto belli, poi la decisione di occuparsi in singolo dei film 3/4 il terzo affidato al solo Paco e questo rec 4 solo a Jaume , le pellicole sono rimaste carina ma qualcosa sembra sempre essere peggiorato,ottima l’idea di abbandonare la visuale camera a mano che aveva contraddistinto le scene nel condominio e parte delle scene del capitolo genesi ,per una ripresa più tradizionale ,ma fondamentalmente le innovazioni si limitano a questo ,il resto è già visto e vissuto ,al posto del condominio isolato dal mondo mettete una nave in silenzio radio e senza scialuppe e poco cambia nell’economia dello sviluppo totale.
Abbandonato anche quel mix di religione e infezione che aleggiava all’inizio dell’opera,qui e totalmente assente salvo qualche riferimento sporadico,ma non è più un punto intrigante; rimane l’alto tasso di gore,con sangue che scorre a fiumi fino alla scena delirante di un motore da motoscafo usato per distruggere delle scimmie infette.

Nei momenti prima del finale per alcuni istante tenterà di giocare la carta citazione del ” La cosa”, ma l’operazione poteva essere gestita effettivamente molto meglio a parere mio.
Che il franchise abbia raggiunto il suo punto massimo di spremitura?? può essere ma il finale lascia presagire possibili seguiti.
probabilmente ci avevano abituato troppo bene ,un film consigliato per gli amanti della serie in questione e degli horror un po splatter in generale, per una serata di relax.
