Era nell’aria da tempo,atteso e temuto allo stesso tempo, il giorno in cui il genere found footage avrebbe pensato ad usare le tecnologie screencast ( tipo quelle usate nei tutorial,in cui registrano ciò che avviene sul pc dal pc stesso) e ora il giorno è arrivato.
Per un idea simile ci voleva qualcuno che non fosse molto conforme alla classicità,infatti dietro a questo Open Windows troviamo Nacho Vigalondo , che ha stupito con i suoi 2 precedenti lavori ( Extraterrestre & Timecrimes ) e che ora si cimenta anche con l’inglese ; il risultato del lavoro è un Thriller che ci permette di osservare lo svolgimento dei fatti solo tramite telecamere di vario genere, spesso indirettamente tramite lo schermo del pc del protagonista.
Nel film troviamo come attore principale Nick,un ragazzo che ha vinto un concorso per blogger, che attende di andare a cena con la sua attrice preferita Jill, cena che però viene annullata ,il protagonista verrà allora contattato da Chord un Hacker che inizialmente si presenterà come agente della diva,che inizierà a fornire al blogger strumenti per una piccola vendetta ,che presto si trasformerà in un ricatto a Nick stesso,in una girandola di intrighi.
Tutta la pellicola è immersa nella pura ambizione di Nacho , Il suo primo lungometraggio Timecrimes ha stupito tutti per i suoi colpi ad effetto ma qui il regista ha voluto tentare di auto superarsi , con una storia che parte pulita e lucida ma ben presto diventa confusionaria per finire in semi caos finale , forse dovuto alle troppe giravolte dei personaggi o alle schermate di PC in stile matriosca.
L’esagerazione della parte cyber del film ci stanno,anche se sono enormi , le telecamere che vicine creano un modello 3D remoto in tempo reale sono sciccherie da Sci-fi ma fanno totalmente il loro lavoro narrativo.

Protagonisti sullo schermo sono Elijah “Frodo” Wood nel ruolo di Nick e l’ex pornodiva ora DJ Sasha Gray , che con la sua presenza ha portato una bella porzione di pubblico maschile , in quello della diva Jill , gli altri personaggi hanno poco spazio sulle scene venendo mostrati per pochissimi minuti.

Un film che nonostante tutti gli stravolgimenti di trama si lascia vedere ,un passo indietro rispetto ai precedenti per Nacho ,che speriamo riparta alla grande ( in V\H\S viral il suo segmento è fenomenale).
