Recensione Film : The giver (2014)

In un futuro prossimo la società è diventata pacifica ed estremamente organizzata, a cui è stata rimossa ogni traccia della storia passata. Agli individui sono state tolte ogni tipo di emozione, dolore, amore e paura,persino i colori. Al giovane Jonas viene affidato il delicato incarico di custodire le Memorie dell’Umanità, che riceverà direttamente dal “Donatore”, provando sulla propria pelle emozioni mai provate. Ma la strada per la conoscenza sarà tortuosa e Jonas stravolgerà le regole quando stringerà un forte legame con il precedente “Donatore”.

The Giver – il mondo di Jonas è un film tratto dal primo libro di una quadrilogia scritta dal Lois Lowry e va inquadrato come uno degli ormai onnipresenti film della categoria Young Adult a sfondo distopico,quella dei vari Hunger Games e Divergent per intenderci,proprio questi ultimi citati fanno dire Tu quoque, Brute, fili mi ,infatti i rispettivi autori per scrivere i loro testi tanto hanno preso dal testo di Lowry,ma nella versione in pellicola l’ordine di uscita vede quest’ultimo in ritardo verso i suoi “figli” facendo uscire frasi tipo…<<ma è tutto copiato da quei film>> .

Ricordati ,se ti viene qualche idea originale per il film..tientela

Proprio questa sensazione di deja-vù smorza l’entusiasmo dello spettatore nel film,un mondo senza emozioni,un mondo senza amore,un mondo in cui i figli sono solo in provetta sono solo alcuni esempi di contenuti avrebbero dovuto colpire in  questo film, ma che ormai sono stati visti mille volte,finendo per dare una contrapposizione quasi maligna in cui quello che doveva trasmettere emozioni,toglie emozioni dal film.
Film che però vanta un comparto visivo efficace,il vedere oltre trasmesso con i colori,in un mondo bianco e nero,pur essendo banale crea un fortissimo impatto grafico appagando occhio e cuore.
Noyce regista di questa pellicola,sceglie però di non osare e di lasciare che l’etichetta del film gli tappi le ali,potrebbe usare immagini forti per impressionare le menti dei ragazzi sulla violenza del mondo,rendendoli partecipi dello sbigottimento che prova il protagonista vedendo l’odio  la rabbia  e la violenza che erano parte del mondo precedente,invece mostra immagini nebulose ,che sono un nulla rispetto a quelle che si possono trovare in un normale TG,soffermandosi molto più a lungo sulle immagini positive del mondo dando un senso di buonismo forse esagerato.
Un cast con nomi da serie A, grossi calibri che però danno l’idea di non essere mai del tutto sfruttati a dovere; Solo Jeff Bridges sembra avere un ruolo vero e proprio,quello del precedente “Donatore” che influenza e istruisce Jonas come suo erede affinando il suo “vedere l’oltre”,Maryl Streep esegue solo un compitino,nulla di che per il suo nome e   Kate Holmes è ridotta quasi ad una comparsa nel ruolo della madre adottiva di Jonas.

lei è presente nel cast come vera e propria comparsa ma ovviamente messa in locandina

Un film che tutto sommato è godibile, che a mio parere poteva essere molto di più osando nelle immagini da mostrare e che non facendolo è finito nel tritacarne di un genere di film che hollywood sta mungendo perchè di moda,senza molta passione.
