Who Am I è un thriller a sfondo informatico del 2014 diretto dal cineasta tedesco Baran bo Odar; la trama segue Benjamin, un giovane mago del computer, che verrà invitato ad unirsi ad gruppo di hackers geniali ed ambiziosi che compiono numerosi hack allo scopo di mostrarsi capaci agli occhi della comunità del web.
La pellicola è orientata al mondo hacker ma non per questo esclude il pubblico meno “nerd”,anzi Baran ci regala una visione particolare e visionaria del suo concetto del mondo Darknet,fatta di rappresentazioni grafiche di quello che avviene in realtà testualmente sullo schermo,quasi fosse un gioco di ruolo o una realtà parallela fatta di nick e maschere;in questo modo il film torna nei binari più classici e permette a tutti di godere a pieno delle situazioni.
Il film mantiene un ritmo costante per tutta la sua durata ma mai altissimo,il che non essendo un film action è l’ideale,la trama che inizialmente sembra molto semplice,s’infittisce invece sempre più con l’incombere del finale,fino a esplodere in una serie rapida di mosse a sorpresa prima delle ultime scene che regaleranno punti extra all’intera opera .
Il cast è composto da attori poco conosciuti ma che dimostrano di recitare le loro parti molto bene,il protagonista è Tom Schilling ( La Suite Francese) ed il resto della crew è composta da Elyas M’Barek (Kebab for breakfast), Antoine Monot Jr.,Hannah Herzsprung e Trine Dyrholm.
Personalmente l’ho trovata una piccola sorpresa inattesa dalla terra dei crauti.
