Questa ricetta è tratta dal film del 1991 Pomodori verdi fritti alla fermata del treno tratto dall’omonimo racconto di Fannie Flagg e diretto nella versione cinematografica di Jon Avnet ( fra i produttori di Cigno Nero )  :
La storia ruota attorno alla vita di diversi personaggi degli anni trenta abitanti nel Sud degli Stati Uniti d’America, affrontando temi quali l’amicizia e l’amore e cerca di essere una cura contro le insidie dell’esistere moderno.4 donne che gestivano il Whistle Stop Café dove una delle protagoniste ricorda che questa ricetta veniva preparata.


“Cosa non darei per un piatto di pomodori verdi fritti come quelli che mangiavamo al café”  dicevano in una delle scene e magari preparandole sentirete questa nostalgia anche voi quindi perchè non provare  :

Ingredienti:(x 6 persone)
6 pomodori verdi, grandi
farina q.b.
olio di oliva per friggere
sale

Procedimento:
Lavate bene i pomodori e tagliateli a fette spesse più o meno un dito.
Passateli nella farina e fateli poi friggere in una padella in un dito di olio ben caldo.
Abbassate la fiamma e dopo circa 5 minuti rigirate le fette che saranno diventate belle dorate e finite la loro cottura.
danno il meglio di se mangiati appena fatti, belli caldi,dopo averci messo un po di sale
