House of Dust è un horror\ thriller sovrannaturale low budget appartenente al filone di film con case infestate, strane possessioni ed il classico gruppo di teen, alla regia troviamo A.D. Calvo ( oltre i binari ) accompagnato alla sceneggiatura da Alyssa Alexandria ( Match.Dead ).
Il duo porta in scena una trama che sulla carta aveva buone potenzialità ed una piccola dose di freschezza, peccato decidano di piazzare House of dust in un limbo fra il banale ( ma guardabile ) e il pessimo pendendo più verso quest’ultimo, ogni omicidio o scena potenzialmente splatter viene tagliata e fatta avvenire fuori scena ed il terrore che dovrebbe essere coadiuvato da visioni e suoni manca di molto il bersaglio creando una situazione di confusione negativa.
Il cast di House of dust non brilla per recitazione ed è formato principalmente da giovani provenienti dal mondo della TV come ad esempio Inbar Lavi ( Last Ship ) , Steven Grayhm ( Between ), Eddie Hassell ( Devious Maids ) , Holland Roden (Teen Wolf ) e Nicole Travolta.
Un film che non raggiunge la sufficienza, ma che rimane guardabile tranquillamente in caso di noia totale, c’è di molto peggio sul mercato.
