Il male è arrivato in città, così fondamentalmente si era conclusa la stagione numero 1 di Salem,lasciandoci molti interrogativi aperti da cui ripartire.
Ovviamente quello che ci viene mostrato inizialmente è solo il primo step per la realizzazione dell’inferno in terra e la seconda stagione sarà incentrata sulla lotta per la realizzazione dei passi successivi al fine di portare il demonio fra noi umani,questo porterà nuovi personaggi nella città principalmente al fine di rimpolpare le file dei cattivi e di uscire dalla logica bipolare che vedeva streghe vs puritani,creando di fatto un numero maggiore di fazioni all’interno dei singoli schieramenti alcune delle quali volutamente lasciate libere di vagare in attesa di scegliere il posto a loro più congeniale.
Nonostante il numero maggiore di pezzi sulla scacchiera questa seconda stagione si abbandona ad un clima maggiormente dark,limitando le situazioni complottistiche (o meglio le hanno rese ugualmente presenti,forse addirittura di più ma meno prolisse e opprimenti),lasciando molto meno spazio alla componente romantica; due fattori che avevano occupato fin troppa parte della precedente season.
Il cast si conferma di discreto livello,con i volti giusti nei posti giusti e i nuovi arrivi si mantengono sulla stessa fascia,a guidare questi nuovi arrivi troviamo l’ex principessa Xena Lucy Lawless,giunonica nel ruolo della contessa di Marburg,meno spazio per John Alden,messo inizialmente a riposo dalla trama e ripreso pienamente solo per il finale.
Decisamente un passo avanti dai primi 13 episodi,ovviamente Salem ci lascia con il tipico finale aperto per farci attendere una 3 stagione ,che tuttavia non è ancora stata pianificata dall’emittente USA.
