Parliamo di tempi lontani,di quando ancora il sottoscritto aveva speranze sul trovare qualcosa di interessante in TV,anche perchè non c’erano altri mezzi come ora per trovare cose da guardare,ma ogni tanto qualche cosa strana appariva anche qui da noi,come questo cartone animato prodotto da Warner Bros ,Freakazoid! che vantava fra i suoi produttori esecutivi …Steven Spielberg.
Dietro questo strambo cartoon troviamo Bruce Timm,la mente dietro moltissimi cartoni di casa DC e Paul Dini ,creatore degli Animaniacs immaginate ora nella vostra la fusione del mondo dei supereroi con quello dei pazzi Animaniacs,ci siete riusciti?? beh il risultato è fondamentalmente questo cartone andato in onda per 24 episodi pieni di umorismo,citazioni,omaggi e sfondamenti della 4 parete.
Dexter Douglass era un giovane nerd diciassettenne prima che un bug del pc gli donasse dei super poteri come agilità,velocità e forza,togliendogli però una buona dose di sanità mentale,può trasformarsi da Freakazoid a normale ( e viceversa) usando le parole “Freak out!” e”Freak in!”trasformandolo in un pazzo super eroe con un altrettanto strambo cast di comprimari e villans pieni di citazioni dal mondo dei supereroi.

Nonostante ora venga considerata un piccolo cult ( in grado di essere citata addirittura nei Simpson) la serie non venne seguita abbastanza da permettergli di proseguire oltre la seconda stagione e venne cosi eliminata,un vero peccato, in italia venne trasmessa se non erro da mamma rai.
Un piccolo pezzo della mia infanzia che mi ha portato ad essere il pazzo babbano.
