Il gioco segue la storia dell’omonimo film del 1996 diretto da Tim Pope,seguito del film cult The Crow e fondamentalmente permette al giocatore di giocare la trama del film nei panni del protagonista Ashe Corven su ben tre delle piattaforme dell’epoca,ovviamente su PC (con una grafica più fine) e poi su Playstation e Sega Saturn.
Prodotto dalla Acclaim City of Angels è un classico Beat’m’Up a scorrimento dotato di grafica isometrica,il combat system ha una base di combattimento corpo a corpo ( pugni e calci base ma come extra qualche combinazione dava colpi acrobatici),ma con anche l’utilizzo di armi come coltelli,bottiglie e qualche arma da fuoco,tutto per conseguire la propria vendetta ed arrivare al villans del film\gioco.
Proprio il combat system rappresenta una delle note peggiori,movimenti goffi e collisioni totalmente inesistenti,ok il protagonista torna dalla morte,ma non è un fantasma quindi non dovrebbe attraversare i nemici dovrebbe colpirli,il gioco è in 3 dimensioni e la telecamera sceglie punti di vista randomici e molto spesso scomodi per seguire le nostre imprese,rendendo difficoltoso allinearsi con il proprio avversario e colpirlo ( o almeno tentare di farlo)inutile parlare della soundtrack meglio spegnere l’audio .
Incredibile pensare che nello stesso periodo la Acclaim tirò fuori Turok: Dinosaur Hunter e nella play impazzava ancora Crash Bandicoot2, tutta un altra musica.
Provate a non ridere guardando come il povero risorto cammina …impossibile.
