Peter è un Agente dell’FBI e si trova a Gerusalemme per risolvere il caso di omicidio di una giovane archeologa. Durante le indagini Peter porta a galla una misteriosa cospirazione che va avanti da duemila anni e che potrebbe cambiare per sempre il corso della storia.
Questa dovrebbe grossomodo essere la trama di Dig , una mini serie fra azione ed avventura ,una specie di codice Da Vinci che incontra Indiana Jones ,che verrà trasmessa da USA Network e con produttori esegutivi Tim Kring ( Heroes e Touch) ed Gideon Raff ( Homeland) ,decisamente un team di tutto rispetto.
Il protagonista della storia sarà interpretato da Jason Isaacs , il Lucius Malfoy che abbiamo visto sugli schermi nella saga di Harry Potter ; Anne Heche vestirà invece i panni della capa e amante di Peter .
I produttori hanno scelto Gerusalemme come loro base, perché la città è ricca di storia, di profezie e di mitologia, e Isaacs, il protagonista, si è detto scioccato di come molte delle teorie della cospirazione trattate nella seriel si basino sulla realtà. “Ci sono forze e persone e gruppi in tutto il mondo che stanno facendo delle cose terrificanti”, ha dichiarato. Eppure, Kring ha aggiunto che lo spettacolo non prenderà posizione su credenze e teorie che appariranno negli episodi, semplicemente li usa come quadro di riferimento per la storia ,come lo si è già visto fare nella serie Touch.
Lo show è stato progettato come miniserie, e dovrebbe quindi finire dopo i 6 episodi previsti ma in caso di successo i produttori hanno candidamente ammesso che il tutto potrebbe semplicemente cambiare location.
Le premesse sembrano essere interessanti,la trasmissione del primo episodio negli Usa è avvenuta il 5 marzo 2015.
