Negli USA è da poco giunta al termine la terza stagione della serie TV Defiance,serie che forse ne presagisce una volontaria fine oppure un gigantesco rinnovamento alle porte.
La serie non parte da dove ci aveva lasciato,ma ci sposta un po’più avanti,mostrandoci le conseguenze del finale della stagione 2 sui personaggi principali,conseguenze che la serie prenderà come status quo,come base sulla quale fare evolvere ulteriormente i propri personaggi e sulle quali imperniare la nuova trama,partendo dall’introduzione di una nuova razza al già variopinto background,gli Omec,potentissima civiltà di predatori che in passato usava le altre razze come cibo o come pezzi di ricambio e che si credeva ormai estinta da anni,ma che si presenterà nella cittadina al momento opportuno per salvare il tutto e farsi accettare (anche se non di buon occhio).

Con il proseguire della stagione avremo la solita miscela di azione,humor e complotti,ben mescolati e serviti in modo forse ancora migliore,il primo episodio solo basta per far capire che nessuno dei personaggi è al sicuro,lo status delle prime stagioni è il passato ed in quanto tale è mutabile,cosi come lo sono i rapporti fra i personaggi stessi,poche costanti restano tali all’interno di Defiance ( a parere mio una scelta molto buona ),gli sceneggiatori non abbandonano mai nessun dei personaggi principali,dedicando ad ognuno di loro il giusto spazio.

Defiance sceglie ancora una volta di nascondere concetti interessanti nella proprio trama,in questo caso il focus si orienta sul fondamentalismo e sull’integrazione,se devo trovare una pecca alla stagione potrei focalizzarmi sull’assenza di un Villan finale valido,troppo rapida ed “indolore” la sua eliminazione,mentre il cattivo “secondario” ha creato danni molto maggiori ai nostri eroi.
Come ho scritto ad inizio articolo il finale di questa terza stagione è un vero e proprio finale,chiude le storie rimaste in sospeso e conclude con una serie d’immagini che hanno il sapore di saluto finale al pubblico che per 3 serie li ha seguiti fedelmente,lasciando come unica opzione per il futuro quella di aprire un nuovo ciclo senza il fardello dei personaggi principali precedenti,spesso d’ingombro nello sviluppo delle serie TV.
La serie ha una arco narrativo ben sviluppato,che difficilmente ho trovato in una serie Action\Sci-Fi moderna,ora che si è concluso mi sento di consigliarla a tutti coloro che amano questo genere di avventure,non ne rimarranno delusi.
